Black Max, Blue Max & White Max High Temperature Boiler Gaskets
WHITE-MAX® gaskets are especially designed for inspection ports of boilers and tanks. They provide reliable seal-ability with low stress and exceptional dimension stability. This form of gasketing is processed by expanding 100% pure polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The result is a bidirectional, soft, highly compressible gasket for longer life and trouble-free sealing. Its form-in-place versatility is perfect for sealing boiler plates that are worn, warped or scored. The high compressibility of the WHITE-MAX® gasket enables it to effectively fill flange imperfections for a tight, leak-free seal. Unlike conventional PTFE which is prone to cold flow WHITE-MAX® has good creep resistance and bolt torque retention properties. It does not support bacterial growth or cause product contamination and is FDA compliant. It has virtually no shelf-life concerns since PTFE is unaffected by normal environmental conditions.
Blue Max® boiler gaskets are made from a special formula of glass/elastomer-impregnated tacky cloth. These super-strong gaskets resist splitting due to over-tightening flange surfaces. Blue-Max® boiler gaskets will give you all of the advantages of an asbestos gasket without the health risks. Blue-Max® gaskets are manufactured from a proprietary tacky cloth of glass synthetic fibers and brass wire and impregnated with a blue elastomer compound.
Black-Max® handhole and manhole gaskets seal better with their exfoliated graphite with great recovery properties. Black-Max® gaskets weigh less than half of spiral gaskets which allows you to save on freight charges and they are easier to handle. Unlike spiral gaskets, Black-Max® gaskets will seal on rough, pitted surfaces under a less compressive load. Temperatures for Black-Max gaskets are as follows: -400° F (-240° C) to 850° F (454° C) in atmosphere, 1200° F (650° C) in steam. The pressure for these gaskets is 2000 psi (70 bar) and the maximum gasket load is 24,000 psi (165 MPa).
